Líquen plano penfigoide é caracterizado por bolhas que aparecem em pápulas e placas de líquen plano ou pele não envolvida de pacientes com líquen plano. A histopatologia mostra ambas manifestações de líquen plano e fenda subepidérmica. Os estudos de imunopatologia são idênticos aos do penfigoide bolhoso, embora alguns epítopos de autoantígenos do penfigoide tenham sido associados ao líquen plano penfigoide. A condição tende a afetar uma faixa etária mais jovem em comparação com o penfigoide bolhoso e geralmente responde ao tratamento. | |||||||||||||||

Immunopathology studies are identical to bullous pemphigoid, although certain epitopes of pemphigoid autoantigens have been associated with lichen planus pemphigoides.
