A condition of the genitourinary system, caused by complications following abortion, operative or spontaneous delivery of a neonate, or as a result of obstructed labour. This condition is characterised by the formation of an abnormal passage between the urethra and the vagina with severe fibrosis or loss of tissue. This condition may or may not have an effect on the part of the nervous system and the muscles which control awareness and volition in urinating. This condition does not include complete separation of the urethra and bladder.
