The bobble-head-doll movement is a rare movement disorder characterised by a 2-3/second antero-posterior bobbing of the head and neck. It is most commonly encountered in the setting of a 3rd ventricle or suprasellar arachnoid cyst in children. The movements become accentuated when the patient is upright and disappear when the patient is recumbent. Surgical repair of the cysts results in improvement of the abnormal movements.
