Rhythmic myoclonus refers to spinal myoclonus which is usually secondary to a lesion in the spinal cord. It may involve jerky movement involving the abdominal muscles and/or the legs. Rhythmic myoclonus may also be sometimes used to describe palatal myoclonus but now that has been re-classified as palatal tremor.
