Distúrbio raro que consiste em movimentos rápidos, rítmicos e involuntários do palato mole com cliques audíveis. Categorizado como tremor palatino essencial (EPT) ou tremor palatino sintomático (SPT). A EPT reflete a ativação rítmica dos músculos tensores do véu palatino e não tem base patológica conhecida. O SPT é causado por um grupo diversificado de lesões do tronco cerebral que interrompem os tratos tegmentais centrais.
