Papuloerythroderma of Ofuji is a distinctive dermatosis predominantly of elderly men manifested by an extensive eruption of pruritic, brownish-red, flat-topped papules which coalesce into sheeted erythema over the limbs and trunk with striking sparing of abdominal skin creases; the face and flexures tend to be spared. Histologically, there is a dense inflammatory infiltrate with prominent eosinophils. It is a regarded as a reaction pattern for which a cause is rarely identified, though it has been linked with lymphoid malignancies and certain drugs.
