Progressive nodular histiocytosis is a rare benign histiocytic disorder of unknown aetiology. It is characterised clinically by the development of multiple superficial skin-coloured or reddish-orange papules and deep nodules distribution at random over the body. Lesions may also occur in the oral cavity, larynx and conjunctival mucosa. Although benign, it may be very disfiguring and have a major impact on quality of life.
