A síndrome da lesão neonatal pelo frio é caracterizada por uma temperatura corporal central abaixo de 35°C (95°F) devida à exposição do recém-nascido a temperaturas ambientais prolongadas ou extremamente baixas. Clinicamente, é caracterizada por baixa temperatura ao toque, apatia, imobilidade, diminuição da produção de urina e recusa alimentar. Além disso, são observados edema e eritema nas extremidades, especialmente nas mãos, pés e face. É comumente fatal e os sobreviventes podem apresentar evidências de danos cerebrais. | |||||||||||||||

Clinically it is characterised by coldness to touch, apathy, immobility, decreased urine output and refusal of food.
