Manifesta-se usualmente por dor e sensibilidade na região abdominal inferior, febre, aumento da frequência de pulso, hipermenorreia e/ou metrorragia. Este distúrbio pode se resolver ou resultar em fibrose, hidrossalpinge, piossalpinge, ou formação de cisto.

It is usually manifested by lower abdominal pain and tenderness, fever, increased pulse rate, hypermenorrhoea and/or metrorrhagia.
