+Xantelasmas são uma forma de xantoma plano que se manifestam como depósitos amarelados de lipídios, nitidamente demarcados dentro da pele da pálpebra. Enquanto não sejam nem prejudiciais e nem dolorosos, esses crescimentos pequenos podem ser desfigurantes e podem ser o sinal clínico de hipercolesterolemia. São comuns em pessoas de origem asiática e da região do Mediterrâneo.

While they are neither harmful nor painful, these minor growths may be disfiguring and may be the presenting sign of hypercholesterolaemia. They are common in people of Asian origin and those from the Mediterranean region.
