Síndrome caracterizada pelo início subagudo de convulsões breves e repetidas com flexão axial ou do membro, ocorrendo em grupos. O EEG mostra hipsarritmia, ou seja, picos multifocais caóticos, de alta voltagem e desaceleração e com abrupto padrão decremental ictal. Várias patologias estruturais do cérebro podem estar presentes, ou nenhuma causa pode ser encontrada. Dois terços das crianças apresentam déficits cognitivos subsequentes. | |||||||||||||||
