Todos critérios diagnósticos para Transtorno de déficit de atenção e hiperatividade são preenchidos e sintomas de hiperatividade-impulsividade são predominantes na apresentação clínica. Hiperatividade se refere à atividade motora excessiva e dificuldade em ficar parado, mais evidente em situações estruturadas que requerem autocontrole do comportamento. Impulsividade é a tendência a agir em resposta a estímulos imediatos, sem deliberação ou consideração de riscos e consequências. Alguns sintomas de desatenção também podem estar presentes, mas não são clinicamente significativos em relação aos sintomas de hiperatividade-impulsividade.

All definitional requirements for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are met and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms are predominant in the clinical presentation. Hyperactivity refers to excessive motor activity and difficulties with remaining still, most evident in structured situations that require behavioural self-control. Impulsivity is a tendency to act in response to immediate stimuli, without deliberation or consideration of the risks and consequences. Some inattentive symptoms may also be present, but these are not clinically significant in relation to the hyperactive-impulsive symptoms.
