Delirium induzido por álcool é caracterizado por um estado agudo de perturbação da atenção e consciência com características específicas de delirium, que se desenvolve durante ou logo após intoxicação ou abstinência pela substância ou durante o uso de álcool. A quantidade e a duração do uso de álcool devem ser capazes de produzir delirium. Características específicas de delirium induzido por álcool podem incluir consciência prejudicada com desorientação, alucinações e ilusões vívidas, insônia, delírios, agitação, distúrbios da atenção, acompanhados de tremores e sintomas fisiológicos de abstinência de álcool. Em alguns casos de abstinência de álcool, o estado de abstinência pode progredir para uma forma muito grave de delirium induzido por álcool. The amount and duration of alcohol use must be capable of producing delirium. Specific features of alcohol-induced delirium may include impaired consciousness with disorientation, vivid hallucinations and illusions, insomnia, delusions, agitation, disturbances of attention, and accompanying tremor and physiological symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. In some cases of alcohol withdrawal, the withdrawal state may progress to a very severe form of Alcohol-induced delirium. The symptoms are not better explained by a primary mental disorder, by use of or withdrawal from a different substance, or by another health condition that is not classified under Mental, behavioural and neurodevelopmental disorders. | |||||||||||||||
