Anemias sideroblásticas são um grupo de transtornos nos quais a hemoglobina é insuficientemente sintetizada, devido a um defeito da utilização do ferro (apesar de os níveis plasmáticos de ferro estarem normais ou elevados). São chamadas sideroblásticas devido à presença de sideroblastos em anel no sangue devido ao acúmulo da ferritina na mitocôndria. As anemias podem ser hipocrômicas microcíticas (em talassemia e anemias sideroblásticas hereditárias), ou macrocíticas (em anemias sideroblásticas adquiridas idiopáticas). | |||||||||||||||
